Services

  • Advice and legal representation to parents who are seeking assistance in all educational matters affecting their children with disabilities. These educational matters may include, but are not limited to, eligibility for special education, educational assessments and testing, independent educational evaluations, Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs), programming and placement, related services (e.g. speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, transportation), extended school year services, graduation, high-stakes testing, discipline, suspension, expulsion, access to educational records, and other educational issues.
  • Filing administrative complaints with federal and state agencies.
  • Availability to speak to small and large groups of parents, advocates, professional and attorneys educational, civil rights, and disability rights issues.
  • Publications, brochures, research, and papers on the rights of children with disabilities under various federal laws and regulations.
  • Representation in appeals of adverse due process decisions to federal district court and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Training and workshops on various federal and state laws and regulations affecting rights of children with disabilities.
  • Consultation and representation on educational, civil rights, juvenile, criminal, domestic, and disability rights issues.
  • Speaking before legislative and administrative agencies on specific educational issues, bills, regulations, and policies.
  • Referral to professionals, advocates, groups, and organizations with knowledge and experience addressing the needs of children with disabilities.
  • Work with advocates, professionals, parents and others to build grass root support for a variety of activities.
